Rode the 7 Hills of Kirkland course with Jeff and Dave today. Jeff’s a pretty solid cyclist, and is working toward a bunch of time trials this summer. Dave is an old friend of mine (we’ve been buddies since Jr. High School) and used to cycle competitively back in high school. Sounds like a good bunch of riding partners, right?

What are all these GEARS for?!

Yep, this weekend I went back to a bike with gears… it’s the first time I’ve used gears since last October, and frankly… it’s weird shit man! What am I supposed to do with all these things? And not having to pedal as I slow down? Being able to actually stop spinning my legs? What a strange sensation?

Feeling a little funky… and not in a good way!

If it was some deep soulful bass riffs pounding through my head… maybe a little Bootsy Collins or maybe some Miles Davis, that would be cool… but nah, it’s something else… something that makes me feel like saying “wah wah”. I’ve been in a funk the last couple days. Maybe it’s stress… probably… maybe I’m coming down with something… let’s hope not… maybe it’s over training… I don’t think so, but then again denial is the first sign of over training… hmmm… so what do you do, when you’re in the middle of a big training week and you feel blah?
